There are many differences between Tru Niagen® and NMN. Unlike NMN, nicotinamide riboside has nine published clinical trials, proving its safety and efficacy as an NAD⁺ booster. In contrast, NMN only has one published clinical trial with no clear conclusions on its efficacy and whether it can increase NAD⁺ levels. Therefore, whether NMN is effective at increasing NAD⁺ levels in humans is not yet known. Nicotinamide riboside has twice been successfully reviewed under the FDA's new dietary ingredient (NDI) notification program. And it has also been successfully notified to the FDA as generally recognized as safe (GRAS).
